Wedding Venue Tour
Congratulation on your engagement!
You are probably wondering where do I begin with all this planning. Well, first thing you are going to have to figure out is what season or at least what month you would like your wedding to be in. Then the very first thing you need to book or at least start looking is for a venue.
A venue is very important, if you don’t have a venue then you don’t have any place to host your event at. The venue sets the ton of the wedding, it’s the place where all your planning comes to life at. Looking for a venue can be a little stressful at times, but not to worry here is some BIG questions that you can ask the venue to make that process easier.
The biggest question of all- the cost, and then if they even have your date available.
Venue layout- making sure they have the space and the room that you need to accommodate your needs.
Service & Package- Go through everything that they offer, ask if food and drinks/bar is available at the venue or if that has to be a separate vendor booking.
Parking- Is there enough parking to accommodate all your guests plus vendors.
Timeline- What is the timeline for the vendors to get to the venue to set up. As a planner I like to get to the venue as earlier as I can to start setting up. Another big question to ask is the break down. Do they have an requirements from the vendors that needs to be down before they leave for the night.
Food trucks- Food trucks are becoming more and more popular at weddings. Ask you venue if they have any restrictions on having food trucks or where they need to be parked.
Decorations- The biggest question to ask is about candles, cause 100% of all weddings have some kind of candles that needs to be lit. Ask if they allow out flame or if they all have to be battery. (side note if they have to be all battery operated then please make sure you have brought enough batteries for all the candles.)
Policy on providing overnight accommodations for the bridal party- Has a planner I usually ask if the bride can bring all decorations to the venue the day before the wedding date (on the rehearsal date). Just so I can go through all the decorations just to make sure we have everything we need. Plus, if the wedding party can bring/leave their wedding attire at the venue. This way nothing is forgotten the day of.
Having these questions I hope it helps out with picking the best venue for your event.
